Typically, kitchens and bathrooms deliver the highest return on investment, but the best starting point depends on your family's specific needs and how you plan to use the space.

While Nehemiah Construction does not offer direct financing, we work with homeowners who use home equity loans, home equity lines of credit (HELOCs), construction loans, and personal loans to fund their remodeling projects. We provide detailed project estimates that you can take directly to your lender. We are also happy to work with your financial institution to provide any documentation they require.

A full home remodel typically takes 3 to 8 months depending on the scope of work. A single-room renovation may be completed in 4 to 8 weeks, while a multi-room or whole-home remodel involving structural changes, plumbing, and electrical can take 6 months or longer. We create a detailed project timeline before work begins and communicate progress regularly so you always know what to expect.

In most cases, yes. For single-room projects like a kitchen or bathroom remodel, homeowners typically stay in the home while we work. For larger whole-home renovations, especially those involving plumbing shutoffs or structural work, temporary relocation may be more comfortable. We discuss logistics during the planning phase and take steps to minimize disruption, including dust barriers, daily cleanup, and clear communication about what areas of the home will be affected and when.

Permit requirements depend on the scope of work. In Walton County, permits are generally required for structural changes, electrical work, plumbing modifications, HVAC alterations, and additions. Cosmetic updates like painting, replacing fixtures, or installing new flooring typically do not require permits. Nehemiah Construction handles all permitting and inspections on your behalf, ensuring your project meets all local building codes.
